Happy Birthday Claire

This year Claire's Birthday fell on Easter Weekend. Pop and Shug decided to come visit us for the Holiday and surprise Claire at her school for her Birthday. She had no idea that they were coming. She had talked to them on the way to school that morning, not knowing that they were really on the road on their way to Tyler, Texas. They arrived just in time for her school snack time...when we brought a cookie cake for her class to help celebrate with us. She was sooooo surprised!

She was thrilled to find out that Pop and Shug were staying for the whole weekend to celebrate her birthday and Easter. We went home and opened presents, including a pink razor scooter and a Hannah Montana wig. Now what Pop did not realize was that Claire remembered something from a long time ago. He told Claire that the next time he came to Tyler he would let her put makeup on him. The next morning she informed him that it was Beauty Parlor time! Six year olds have great memories!!

HAPPY EASTER

Wow...what a busy weekend we had. We went to Two Easter egg hunts on Saturday. One at the church and one at Hollytree. This was Caroline's first year to really realize what was going on. She was smart though....she would pick up an egg and shake it to see if it had alot of candy. If not, she would throw it back down. She was really enthralled by the Easter bunny too. She followed him around everywhere he went.

Since Claire's birthday fell on Easter we chose to really celebrate the following weekend. Instead of having a party with all her friends, she had told me long ago that she wanted to go to Dallas and eat at the Rainforest Cafe. She would go there with her Nana and Papa sometimes when she visited them and she decided that this was how she wanted to celebrate her 6th birthday. We let her choose one friend to bring.....and of course she chose her best friend Katie Beth. Her dad and I made all the arrangements, but we decided to add a little surprise to it! We reserved a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine and did not tell her until we were pulling up in the parking lot of the Hotel. You should have seen their eyes when we told them our plan. The hotel had an indoor water park. And on top of that, it had a log cabin type room within our room with bunk beds for them to sleep in. They had a blast. They splashed at the water park, karaoked in the room and watched High School Musical. We did end up going to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch the next day and they got to build a jungle animal at Build a Bear. After that we went and stayed a night with Nana and Papa in Dallas. That really topped off the weekend! They really had a great time. It may be hard to top this birthday celebration next year!!

Now Claire is asking when she will get to celebrate with her other grandparents, Mylinda, Granny Great, Me Me and Papa Mal. We hope to see them all very soon!
